Update regarding the OkCoin Fundraiser

Recently, OKCoin ran a fundraising event involving multiple beneficiaries, including Bitcoin ABC. Unfortunately, there were issues with this fundraiser, as explained by in this article.

Regardless of our criticism, OKCoin sent the funds to Bitcoin ABC just the same, which leaves ABC in a predicament. If ABC were to accept the funds, it wouldn’t be consistent with what we’ve already expressed concerning this situation. On the other hand, returning the funds would needlessly deprive the Bitcoin Cash community.

A third option is to forward the funds to another project within the Bitcoin Cash ecosystem that is creating value, and this is the course we will take. Bitcoin ABC did forward the funds from the OKCoin fundraiser to the Electron Cash project.
